PROJECTS - Lime Drying Plant

This project required an upgrade of the control system for a Lime Drying Plant. The upgrade involved replacing an existing PLC 5 with a ControlLogix system, the installation of a ControlNet network (allowing integration with other existing SLC500 hardware), and a SCADA package upgrade to Rockwell Automation FactoryTalk View SE using the FactoryTalk Services Platform. The SCADA upgrade included KPI (Key Performance Indicator) Data Logging to a SQL database. This data is passed onto the corporate intranet for use at management level.
For this particular project Thin Clients were used. This removed computers with moving parts from the dusty environment of the Control Room reducing maintenance requirements, and also providing central administration.
